Guest posting basics
What is a guest post?
A guest post is an article written by someone outside a website and published on that site, usually with a link back to the author's or a client's website. Businesses use guest posts to reach a site's readers, earn referral traffic and build links. Google asks that paid guest post links be marked as sponsored.
What is the difference between a guest post and a niche edit?
A guest post is a new article published on the publisher's site with your link. A niche edit adds your link to an article that is already published and indexed. Niche edits are often faster (typically 5 to 10 business days) but give you less say over the text around your link.
What is BacklinksFusion?
BacklinksFusion is a guest posting marketplace founded in 2023. Buyers filter 48,000+ publisher websites by niche, country, DA, DR, traffic and price, order guest posts, niche edits, press releases or content writing, and receive a report with the live link for every order.
Is BacklinksFusion legit?
BacklinksFusion has operated since 2023 from 215 Sundrop Ct, Eureka, Missouri, USA (hello@backlinksfusion.com, +1 940 618 7208). Prices are shown before you order, payments run through third-party processors, every order ends with a live-link report, and the Terms set out the refund and link replacement rules.
How is BacklinksFusion different from a link building agency?
An agency usually picks the sites and runs outreach for a monthly fee. On BacklinksFusion you see each site's metrics and price, choose the sites yourself and pay per placement. If you prefer not to choose, packages of 10 posts are available in three DA tiers.
Cost and pricing
How much does a guest post cost?
On BacklinksFusion the median guest post costs $47, and half of all 48,572 priced listings cost between $29 and $102 (October 2026). Prices run from $14.90 to $998. A site's organic traffic moves the price more than its DR. Full figures are in the Guest Post Pricing Index.
How much does a DR 50 guest post cost?
Listings with an Ahrefs DR of 50–59 have a median price of $59, with the middle half between $20 and $169. DR 40–49 sites have a median of $95 and DR 70–79 sites $158, so DR alone is a weak guide to price. Compare traffic and topic too.
Why are some guest posts so cheap?
Cheap listings usually have little measurable search traffic. On BacklinksFusion, sites with no Ahrefs traffic estimate have a median price of $35, while sites with 10,000–99,999 monthly visits have a median of $150. A low price can still suit a relevant site; check its traffic, recent posts and outbound links first.
Are cheap guest post packages worth it?
They can be, if you know what you are buying. A package lowers the price per post, but you have less say over the sites. Before buying any package, ask which sites are included, check that they fit your topic and get real traffic, and compare the cost with choosing sites in the marketplace.
How much do casino, CBD and crypto guest posts cost?
They cost more than standard posts. On BacklinksFusion, 29,264 listings accept casino articles at a median price of $89, 28,987 accept CBD at $82 and 30,876 accept crypto at $89, compared with a $47 median for standard posts. Each listing shows its prices for these topics.
What is included in the price of a guest post?
The listing price covers publishing your article on that website with your link, plus a report showing the live URL. Article writing is an extra option if you don't supply the article. Each listing states how many links you can add, the accepted word range and the turnaround.
Safety and Google's rules
Is buying backlinks safe?
Buying links that pass ranking credit breaks Google's spam policies; Google can ignore such links or apply a manual action. Paying for a placement is within the rules when the link is marked rel="sponsored" or nofollow. A relevant placement can still bring referral visitors and brand visibility. No one can guarantee rankings.
Does Google penalize paid guest posts?
It can. Google's spam policies list "buying or selling links for ranking purposes", including "exchanging money for links, or posts that contain links", as link spam, along with links with optimized anchor text in guest posts. Google says such links are not a violation when they are qualified with rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored".
Do paid guest posts need rel="sponsored"?
Google asks that paid placements be marked rel="sponsored", and says nofollow "is still an acceptable way to flag them, though sponsored is preferred." On BacklinksFusion you choose dofollow, sponsored or nofollow for every order, so the decision stays with you and the publisher.
What is the difference between dofollow, nofollow and sponsored links?
A dofollow link is an ordinary link without a rel value. rel="sponsored" marks ads and paid placements, rel="ugc" marks user-generated links such as comments, and rel="nofollow" is for other links you don't want associated with your site. Google says links with these values "will generally not be followed."
How can I tell if a guest post site is a PBN?
Warning signs include traffic that is tiny or suddenly spiked, posts on unrelated topics, almost every article carrying outbound commercial links, no real authors or contact details, and several sites sharing one design or owner. Check the traffic trend in Ahrefs or Semrush and read a few recent posts before ordering.
Does BacklinksFusion use PBNs or automated link building?
No. Articles are published by the owners of independently run websites after their own editorial review, and BacklinksFusion does not use private blog networks or automated link insertion. Every completed order comes with a report showing the live URL, and the Terms set out the refund and link replacement rules.
Choosing a site
What DR is good for a guest post?
There is no fixed cut-off. Domain Rating measures a site's backlink profile, not its audience. A DR 30 site with steady organic traffic in your niche can be a better placement than a DR 70 site with none. Use DR to shortlist, then decide on traffic, topic fit and the quality of recent posts.
DA or DR: which matters more for guest posts?
Neither is a Google metric. Moz Domain Authority (DA) and Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR) both score a site's backlink profile from 0 to 100, each using its own link data. Check that the two roughly agree; a large gap, or high scores with no traffic, is a reason to look more closely at the site.
How do I check if a website has real traffic?
Look at the site's organic traffic trend and ranking keywords in a tool such as Ahrefs or Semrush, not a single number. Real sites rank for many keywords related to their topic and show steady traffic. Sudden spikes, traffic from unrelated countries or rankings for odd keywords are warning signs.
What should I check before ordering a guest post?
Check five things: the site covers your topic; it has organic traffic you can verify; recent posts read like real articles, not link lists; each post carries a reasonable number of outbound links; and the listing's link type, link validity, word range and turnaround fit your plan. Then compare the price with similar sites.
How many outbound links is too many?
There is no official number, but be wary of sites where most posts link to several unrelated businesses, or where links appear in nearly every paragraph. That pattern is typical of sites that exist to sell links. On BacklinksFusion most listings allow one or two links per post.
Ordering and delivery
How does buying a guest post work on BacklinksFusion?
Filter the marketplace by niche, country, DA, DR, traffic and price, then open a listing and order it. Add your target URL, anchor text and link attribute, and send your article or order one. The publisher reviews and publishes it, and you receive a report with the live URL.
How long does a guest post take to go live?
Each listing shows its own turnaround; the median across 48,572 listings is 7 days, and half list 3 to 7 days. Our standard estimate is 7 to 14 business days, because content approval and publisher queues can add time. Packages of 10 posts are normally delivered in 2 weeks.
Can I choose my anchor text and target URL?
Yes. You enter the target URL and anchor text when you order, and you choose dofollow, sponsored or nofollow. The publisher can ask for a change if the anchor doesn't fit its editorial rules, for example replacing an exact-match keyword with your brand name or a descriptive phrase.
Can I write the guest post myself?
Yes. You can send a ready article, or choose Article Writing + Publication on the listing page and BacklinksFusion writes it for you. Either way the publisher reviews the article before publishing. Most listings accept articles of 600 to 3,000 words.
What happens if my guest post link is removed?
BacklinksFusion monitors placed links for six months after delivery. If a publisher removes a confirmed live link in that time, the link is replaced at no extra charge. Links removed because of your own or a third party's action are not covered. See section 6.4 of the Terms.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are considered case by case, for example when the order has not been assigned yet, the publisher cannot fulfil it, or the placement differs materially from what you ordered. Orders whose content was already submitted or whose live link was delivered are not refundable. Section 6 of the Terms has the details.
Which payment methods can I use?
You can pay with the methods shown at checkout. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors, and BacklinksFusion does not store card details on its servers. An order is confirmed once the payment is confirmed, and you can follow its progress in your account.
Links and content
How many links can I include in a guest post?
It depends on the publisher. Of 49,009 listings on BacklinksFusion, 63% allow one link per post, 31% allow two and 6% allow three. The number is shown on every listing. A few relevant links in useful content are also more likely to pass the publisher's review.
Are guest post links permanent?
Most are: 96% of BacklinksFusion listings offer permanent links, and about 4% offer links valid for one year. Each listing states its link validity. Separately, if a publisher removes a confirmed link within six months of delivery, BacklinksFusion replaces it at no extra charge.
How long should a guest post be?
Follow the publisher's limits first; most listings on BacklinksFusion accept 600 to 3,000 words. Within that range, write for the site's readers: an article that fully answers one question is easier to get approved, and more useful, than one padded to reach a word count.
Which anchor text should I use in a guest post?
Use mostly branded or descriptive anchors, such as your brand name or a short phrase that describes the page. Google's spam policies name links with optimized anchor text in guest posts as link spam, so avoid repeating exact-match keywords across many placements.
Results
How long do backlinks take to work?
There is no fixed timeline. Google first has to crawl and index the page with your link, which can take days or weeks, and any effect on rankings builds over time together with your own content and technical SEO. Track referral traffic and the target page's rankings rather than expecting a change after one link.
How do I check if my guest post is indexed?
Search Google for the article's exact URL, or search site: followed by the article URL. If it doesn't appear after a few weeks, check that the page isn't blocked by robots.txt or a noindex tag, and that the site links to it from its blog or category pages.
How many backlinks do I need to rank?
It depends on your competitors. Look at the pages ranking for your keyword in Ahrefs or Semrush and see how many relevant websites link to them. Relevance and quality matter more than the count: a few links from real sites in your niche can help a page that already has strong content.
AI search
Do backlinks help with AI search visibility?
Indirectly. AI search tools draw on web search results and on what other websites say about a brand. Links help your pages get crawled and rank, and mentions of your brand on relevant sites give AI systems more sources to learn from. Clear, factual pages make it easier for them to quote you.
Can a guest post get cited by ChatGPT or Perplexity?
Yes, if the article ranks or is the clearest answer to a question. AI assistants cite the page that contains the answer, which is the publisher's article, not your site. A guest post helps you most when it names your brand and states useful facts, so the citation still points readers to you.
Are brand mentions or backlinks more important?
You want both. Backlinks help search engines find and rank your pages; brand mentions, linked or not, tell people and AI systems what your company does. Guest posts can provide both when the article mentions your brand in a relevant, factual way rather than only carrying a keyword link.
For publishers
How can I sell guest posts on my website?
List your site on BacklinksFusion from the For Publishers page. You set your own price and rules, such as word range, link type and accepted topics, and manage orders in the vendor dashboard. You review every article before publishing it and are paid for completed orders.
How much can I charge for a guest post?
Price against similar sites. On BacklinksFusion the median buyer price is $47; sites with 1,000–9,999 monthly organic visits have a median of $118, and sites with 100,000+ visits $297. Casino, CBD and crypto topics usually sell for more. Traffic and topic demand matter more than DR alone.
