How Much Does a Guest Post Cost in 2026?

Short answer: On BacklinksFusion, the median guest post costs $47. Half of the 48,572 priced listings cost between $29 and $102 (October 2026). Prices start at $14.90 and go up to $998.
Other studies report higher numbers. BuzzStream’s June 2026 study of vendor prices found an average of $461, or about $295 if you buy directly from the site. The gap exists because averages and medians are different things, and because most sites for sale are small. BuzzStream found that 39.6% of the guest post sites it studied get no organic traffic at all.
So the real answer is: it depends on the site. Here is what moves the price.
1. Traffic matters more than DR
Most people shop by Domain Rating (DR). The price follows traffic much more closely.
| Monthly organic visits | Median price |
|---|---|
| None measured | $35 |
| 1,000 to 9,999 | $118 |
| 10,000 to 99,999 | $150 |
| 100,000 or more | $297 |
DR alone is a weak guide. Sites with DR 40 to 49 have a median of $95, while DR 50 to 59 sites sit at $59. Two sites with the same DR can have very different audiences, so check traffic before you pay.
2. Your niche changes the price
Casino, crypto and CBD posts cost more than standard ones. The medians on BacklinksFusion are $89 for casino, $82 for CBD and $89 for crypto, against $47 for a standard post.
Be careful with cheap casino offers. BuzzStream found that most gambling sites in its data had no traffic. The ones with real traffic and authority averaged $1,109 per post. A very low price in these niches usually means a very weak site.
3. What the price includes
Check these before you order:
- Whether writing is included, or you send your own article
- How many links you can add (63% of listings allow one, 31% allow two)
- How long the link stays live (96% of our listings are permanent)
- Turnaround time (the median is 7 days)
- The link type: dofollow, sponsored or nofollow
4. Why some guest posts are so cheap
A low price is not always a scam. Small niche sites can be a good fit for a specific topic. But a cheap post on a site with no traffic, unrelated articles and links in every paragraph is not worth buying at any price.
Before you order, check the site’s traffic trend in Ahrefs or Semrush, read a few recent posts, and count the outbound links.
5. A note on Google’s rules
Google treats buying links to boost rankings as link spam. It asks that paid links carry rel="sponsored" (nofollow is also accepted). A relevant post can still bring referral visitors and brand mentions, but nobody can promise rankings.
How much should you budget?
- Testing a niche or building mentions: $30 to $100 per post on a relevant site with some real traffic.
- A steady monthly plan: $100 to $300 per post for sites with 10,000+ monthly visits.
- Competitive niches: $300 and up, and compare each site’s traffic first.
Writing, edits and your own review time add to the total, so count them too.
